You will walk along the Romanche, sometimes tumultuous, sometimes calm and clear, to its source. It crosses a high bucolic valley at the foot of the peaks of the Ecrins National Park. A gentle stroll in a high mountain setting!
At the start, follow the GR54 which in a few bends crosses a glacial lock offering very beautiful views of the valley. Do not cut the bends (risk of erosion).
At the fork, turn right towards the Adèle Planchard refuge.
The path leads to the Plan de l'Alpe where the walk is easy and the view sumptuous.
At Pont de Valfourche, where the valley divides in two, turn left towards the Adèle Planchard refuge.
Continue to the sources of the Romanche at 2143 m.
Return by the same route.

YOU HIKE IN THE HEART OF THE ECRINS NATIONAL PARK. The Écrins massif is an exceptional space, open to all, whose natural, cultural and landscape heritage is rare. To protect these riches, the heart of the park is marked by flags painted blue-white-red, where regulations must be respected. Please read it while preparing your hike in order to preserve this collective good on the ecrins-parcnational.fr website.
