N°10 Romanche – Le Vallon de la Buffe
Circuit on rolling paths in the heart of the mountain pastures, with a view of the Meije and its glaciers. Family hike, with many picnic opportunities.
Detailed itinerary:
– From the car park, enter and cross the village via the RD 33
– At the bottom of the village, take the track on the left where the road goes up and continue on the track.
– At the crow's foot, take the right track to go up the Gâ torrent
– Cross the hamlets of Rama and Rivet de la Cime.
– At the next junction, continue on the left track, at the very edge of the torrent
– Pass under the Refuge du Pic du Mas de La Grave and the Chalets de la Buffe to arrive at the Barraque de la Buffe
– Once you arrive at Barraque de la Buffe, turn around and take the same path back to the Refuge du Pic du Mas de La Grave
– After the torrent, take the footbridge on the right to go back down to the other bank of the Gâ torrent and go back up along the Combettes torrent until you reach the path.
– Once at the path, turn left to go back down towards Chazelet, always taking the path as close as possible to the torrent.
– At the hamlet of Vorze, join the starting track and return to the hamlet of Chazelet
