Route potentially subject to significant damage due to major weather events and whose viability may be uncertain, find out before setting off on this route.

The Romanche Gorges trail follows a 15 m long Himalayan footbridge, 10 m above the tumultuous river. The route goes up the valley through the hamlets, winding between meadows and hydroelectric installations.
A walk to do with the family, quiet and varied. You will have the opportunity to rediscover the lower valley of the Romanche, far from the road (which you will only have to cross twice). Green meadows, fiery Romanche, industrial heritage and pretty little hamlets will punctuate your itinerary.

ROUTE
From Rioupéroux, the ideal is to start with a short visit to the Romanche museum. This will enlighten your walk with a touch of cultural information.
Then, to the left of the museum, take the first left to go up rue Georges Pelletier. Then take the third alley on the left (at the stop), rue des Eaux Claires, you can see the passage under the canal to take. After this, turn right to follow a path until you reach rue de la Combe Blanche. The latter connects the departmental road to the hamlet of Ponant. Follow it, take the pedestrian footbridge over La Romanche (rather than the bridge) and continue across Ponant, one of the original hamlets of Livet-et-Gavet.
The road turns into a track again (chemin de la Vigne) for about a kilometer.
To reach the Himalayan footbridge, take the path on the right which goes down and passes in front of one of the bouldering sites popular with enthusiasts. Take the footbridge and continue on the path to the road (RD 1091). Cross it (be careful!) to reach the hamlet of Roberts by following the road. In the hamlet, follow the road of Roberts (2nd on the left) which turns into a track.
Join Livet by crossing the RD 1091 again. The Vernes factory is in front of you. Continue on the right to join the village of Livet by the old road. Just before crossing the Romanche, go around the Keller pavilion (filming location of Les Rivières Pourpres) and you have arrived!
Along the route you will find directional signs.
Return by the same route, or you can also start from Livet.
