Pré Arnaud – Randonnée depuis Besse-en-Oisans

ITINERARY :
The route starts in front of the Tourist Office. You can park upstream, at the Ste Anne car park. Cross the village until you reach the cemetery. Then turn right towards Carlet and then follow the direction of Pré Arnaud. You will first pass by a fairly steep and shaded path, before crossing the Salse stream via the bridge. Then turn right to gain height in the Bessat mountain pastures. You will then walk along a former pasture area, reclaimed by birch trees over the last thirty years (moreover, “Besse” comes from “bès” meaning “birch” in patois!). You can admire a panorama of the village as well as the Grandes Rousses massif.
