Itinerary:
At the foot of the cable car Venosc, go down to the Bourg d'Arud bridge and join the path towards Plan du Lac. At the whitewater base, follow Le Puy / Saint Christophe en Oisans. At the exit of St Christophe, follow Pré Clot, then Champhorent. Take the road to the municipal campsite. Cross the bridge and take the path towards La Bérarde.

Please note: access to and visits to La Bérarde (Saint-Christophe-en-Oisans) are strictly prohibited until further notice.> Municipal decree of the commune Saint-Christophe-en-Oisans, dated 22/06/2024

At the bottom of a rocky valley, this path goes back to the origins of the Vénéon and opens onto the Carrelet plan. The greenery of this “plan” contrasts with the steep cliff of the Ailefroide which dominates the refuge with its 2000 m of difference in altitude. This path has been the subject of a major restoration by the teams of the National Park so that it is accessible for the pleasure of hikers.

“YOU ARE HIKE IN THE HEART OF THE ECRINS NATIONAL PARK
The Écrins massif is an exceptional space, open to all, whose natural, cultural and landscape heritage is rare. To protect these riches, the heart of the park is marked by blue-white-red painted flags, where regulations must be respected. Please read them when preparing your hike in order to preserve this collective good on the ecrins-parcnational.fr website.”

TO SEE ON THE ROUTE:
In the alpine meadow you can see rhododendrons, gentians and many other mountain flowers. Chamois and marmots are not far away: you just have to sharpen your senses to see or hear them.

TO KNOW :
The refuge is located on the old alpine hamlet of Plat du Carlez, a quiet and green meadow located at the crossroads of the Vénéon valley and the Chardon valley. An ideal site to admire from the terrace the Ailefroide and the Rouies, emblematic peaks of the Ecrins. Passing through during the day, to come and taste our fresh pasta and drink a homemade vitamin juice, or staying in our rooms for 8 to 2 people, the Carrelet refuge is ideal for a 100% nature break under the benevolent eye of the peaks. Welcome to families and mountaineers!
