Randonnée Le Lac du Lauvitel (au départ de Venosc)
The unmissable hike in Oisans! The lake is reached by a pleasant walk in the Parc des Ecrins.
It is one of the most beautiful sites in Oisans within reach of children aged 7 and over.
The route winds along the enormous landslide that formed the lake, but in a shaded and bucolic atmosphere.
“YOU ARE HIKE IN THE HEART OF THE ECRINS NATIONAL PARK
The Écrins massif is an exceptional space, open to all, whose natural, cultural and landscape heritage is rare. To protect these riches, the heart of the park is marked by blue-white-red painted flags, where regulations must be respected. Please read them when preparing your hike in order to preserve this collective good on the ecrins-parcnational.fr website.”
ITINERARY :
From the cable car parking lot Venosc, follow the road towards Bourg d'Oisans for 1 kilometer.
At the first pedestrian bridge crossing the Vénéon (called the 'Green Bridge') cross to go to the left bank. Take the path that goes off to the right towards La Danchère.
You will cross a scree slope whose exit is slightly higher than the entrance. Cairns (small piles of stones) help you to identify the path. Once you arrive at the hamlet of La Danchère, take the path passing in front of the village café to find the GR54. At the end of the track, two paths are available to you, one on each bank of the stream: either the one on the right which winds gently to the lake, more varied and gentler for the climb, or the one on the left, more shaded but steeper, perfect for the descent and making the loop. A footbridge allows you to change slopes about halfway. The bravest will continue to the Col du Vallon, to the right of the lake, where a lake nestles in a wilder high mountain atmosphere.
THE PARC DES ECRINS, A FRAGILE NATURE TO PROTECT
When hiking in the Parc des Ecrins you must respect the regulations which allow you to enjoy this exceptional natural space: do not leave the trails, dogs prohibited even on a leash, no picking flowers, no taking of fossils, minerals, animals, etc. , do not throw anything on the ground (bring back your waste yourself). Nature thanks you!
TO SEE ON THE ROUTE:
What a reward when you arrive at the edge of the lake and the marmots poke their noses out! You will enjoy observing the mountain flora: martagon lily, orange lily, spotted orchid...depending on the season.
TO KNOW :
The largest lake in the Écrins massif is also a full nature reserve at the bottom of the valley (completely untouched by human presence). And don't forget that you are in the Écrins National Park: don't stray from the paths, don't pick flowers, don't swim, respect these gifts of nature!
