Refuge Evariste Chancel et lac de Puy Vachier depuis 2400m
The crossing to the Refuge via the Puy Vachier lake offers a beautiful panorama of the mountain pastures and summits of the southern slope of the valley: the Emparis plateau, the peaks of Goléon and Mas de la Grave, the Aiguilles d 'Arves and the Three Bishoprics.
From the intermediate station of the Glacier Cable Cars of the Meije,
at 2400m, follow the signs indicating Puy Vachier lake and the Chancel refuge.
At the start, the path descends for about sixty meters. At the intersection with the path that goes down towards La Grave, take the path to the left that crosses the mountainside to the lake.
Then follow the path which leads to the Chancel refuge in around 30 minutes.
Return by the same route.
