Sentier des gorges de Livet
This easy walk invites you to discover the cultural and natural heritage of Livet. Between Himalayan footbridge, typical hamlets and historical sites, it is a beautiful bucolic interlude in the heart of Oisans.

ROUTE
Go left from the museum, then take the first left for
go up Georges Pelletier Street. Then take the 3rd
alley on the left (at the Stop), rue des Eaux Claires, we can see the
passage under the canal to take.
After this we go right to follow a path until
find the rue de la Combe Blanche. The latter connects the
departmental road to the hamlet of Ponants. Follow it,
take the pedestrian footbridge over La Romanche (rather than the bridge) and continue across the
Ponants, one of the original hamlets of Livet-et-Gavet.
The road turns into a track again (chemin de la
Vineyard) for a small kilometer.
To reach the Himalayan footbridge, take the path on the right which goes down and passes in front of one of the bouldering sites popular with enthusiasts.
Take the footbridge and continue along the path to the
road (RD 1091). Cross it (be careful!) to reach the
hamlet of Roberts following the road.
In the hamlet follow the Roberts road (2nd on the left)
which turns into a track. Join Livet by crossing
again the RD 1091. The Vernes factory is in front of you.
Continue on the right to reach the village of Livet
by the old road. Just before crossing the Romanche
bypass the Keller Pavilion (filming location of “Rivers”
Purple” and “on the other side of the ring road”) and you have arrived!

-the Vernes factory was put into service in 1918, the power station was classified as a Historic Monument in 1994.
-The Romanche Museum offers exhibitions on the geology and industrial history of the Romanche valley.
-the Himalayan footbridge is 15 m long and passes 10 m above the bed of the fiery Romanche!
