Site de blocs – Le Grand Sablat
Perched site in the Haut-Oisans with a panoramic view. The Grand Sablat glacier has deposited a stock of large blocks on flat areas as it retreated. Site with great potential, already offering 60 passages with difficulties between 6a and 8c.

The Grand Sablat: a chaos of blocks facing the Meije
The blocks are scattered in a magical setting: fresh air, lush meadows, bouncing streams and spontaneously generated clouds, all against a backdrop of Rake and Meije majestic. Its recent existence, at least as a climbing site, dates back to 2008. The potential has not yet been fully exploited, but even without this, the Grand Sablat already stands out as a site with magnificent boulders and exceptional scenery, for all lovers of beautiful climbing in the heart of large, unspoiled spaces.
Location of a FFME gathering for 2 years.
Practitioners are of course called upon to protect the mountain environment and climbing grounds, please:
– respect the paths identified to preserve the floral landscape of the area in full bloom from May/June.
– take back your trash.

Location details
Join the col de SarennePark slightly below the pass on the Clavans side. Take the path towards "le Clos Chevalleret". The blocks are located before Clos Chevalleret, in line with the Grand Sablat stream.
