LA GRAVE SECTOR
La Grave, located at an altitude of 1500 m at the foot of the Meije, has survived the ages while preserving its beauty. The village rightly benefits from the coveted label “The Most Beautiful Villages of France”. As for the landscape, it’s euphoric: you look up and a myriad of sparkling glaciers and sharp peaks reach out to you.
For us hikers, La Grave is a fantastic starting point with the cable car of the Meije which allows you to considerably shorten the approach walks to races, each more magical than the last. With many peaks between 3000 and almost 4000 m, this territory is of course dedicated to high mountains. La Grave, it’s our Chamonix in Oisans… minus the crowds!
