Ski de randonnée depuis Les Près
St-Christophe-en-Oisans: it is THE village of Gaspard de la Meije, distinguished winner of the grand premiere on the MeijeA pretty village, a café open all year round, the mountaineering museum and ski races that will be a milestone in your skiing life.
You have to climb above the village to then enter the Vallon de la Selle, which is very popular on the way down from the resort of Les 2 Alpes. You won't find a wild atmosphere there, but its frequentation in no way spoils the beautiful possibilities of itineraries from the valley.
HIKING SUGGESTION
> “Classic” day trips
– Selle Refuge + 1000 m
Going up to the Selle refuge is an interesting route for the pleasure of sleeping in a refuge, watching the sun rise in the morning and preparing other routes. Easy but long route.
> “Steep slopes” and “technical” itinerary
– Burlan Corridor (3207 m) + 1570 m
WITH NIGHT IN REFUGE:
Day 1: climb to the refuge + 1100 m
Day 2: “Classic” routes from the refuge:
– Râteau Breach (3235 m) + 560 m
– Col du Replat (3335 m) + 680 m
– Gandolière pass and corridor (3233 m) + 600 m
– Tower of the Meije
PRACTICAL INFORMATION
> Where to get supplies: Bar/restaurant in St-Christophe.
> Where to sleep: Gîtes and rooms in St-Christophe.
VENEON SECTOR
Once you enter the Vénéon Valley, you will be enchanted for life... It is a real hiking gem. The possibilities are immense and the beauty of the place will sometimes make you snowplough on the way down in order to better enjoy the landscapes...
Homeland of Father Gaspard, the victor of the Meije In 1877, the valley offers a rugged appearance with a tender heart that must be sought after by taking one's time. Once the legendary Bérarde road opens, the day possibilities multiply like the famous hotcakes and end late with high-altitude itineraries.
As for the possibilities from a refuge, they are simply endless. Here we offer you ideas to try without moderation, but you will see, ski touring in the Vénéon is like peanuts: once you start, you can't stop. So you can also invent your own sequences, decline an outing over several days, in a star from one of the Vénéon refuges, in a raid... in short, the spatulas quiver as soon as you enter the homeland of Father Gaspard.
