Tour de La Grave au Plateau d'Emparis par le Pic du Mas de la Grave
3 days of walking to attempt the ascent of the Pic du Mas de La Grave and discover the Plateau d'Emparis, a true belvedere over the Ecrins.
This excursion begins with a rather short first stage which invites you to stroll from village to hamlet, crossing the Vallon de la Buffe and its mountain pastures popular with transhumant herders. It ends at the Pic du Mas de refuge La Grave, at the foot of the peak. The second day is punctuated by the imposing presence of the Pic du Mas de La Grave (3020m). From the valley, the climb to the Peak is a must for experienced hikers and offers a 360° view. Then return to the Fay and Mouterres refuges for the night. The last stage will join the GRⓇ54 before gaining height to offer hikers a unique view from the Emparis plateau and its two emblematic lakes: Lake Lerié and Lake Noir. Here the high peaks of the massif are revealed: the Écrins glaciers, La MeijeThis stage ends with the crossing of Chazelet and Les Fréaux, which marks the return to civilization through the Romanche valley.
