Tour de l'Aiguille de Vénosc

Les Deux Alpes
Attention! The path between the Danchère and the Alleau on the left bank of the Vénéon is closed due to landslides. To loop back, from Lac du Lauvitel, go back down to the Danchère, take the Etroits footbridge, the RD530 and join Venosc.

After going up the narrow alleyway to the top of the hamlet of Alleau, the climb begins with a beautiful forest path which will then dominate, in the mountain pastures, the left bank of the Pisse torrent. The climb is continuous, but the slope finally flattens out and you come out onto the magnificent cirque of the Lac de la Muzelle with its refuge elegantly placed just above the lake. Both watched over from above by the Muzelle glacier. After a good night at the refuge, the path begins on a fairly steep slope which zigzags just below the pass of the valley. From here, you should take the time to admire the Barre des Écrins from an unusual angle. Shortly afterwards, the descent almost permanently dominates the Lac du Lauvitel, with passages sometimes equipped with a handrail. After the Lauvitel “beach” and its piles of blocks, the descent towards La Danchère is on an almost entirely paved path which can be very popular, then the return to the hamlet of Alleau is partly along the mighty Vénéon, peaceful, in the forest.
