Tour entre Clarée et Écrins en 6 jours
An original loop which brings together the Écrins massif and that of Cerces, another mountain setting whose jewels can be discovered step by step.
From the Park Information Center at Col du Lautaret, take the GR®50 which descends to the foot of the pasture to reach the mountain pastures, followed by the Alpe de Villar d'Arène refuge. Leave the refuge and go back up the path to the Col d'Arsine (2 m) and the Arsine glacier lake. Two large lakes at the foot of a cirque mark the end of the climb (348 m). Retrace your steps to find the path, dotted with small lakes and the shepherd's hut. After a scree slope and small switchbacks, reach the Lac de La Douche then a larch forest. Follow the torrent to the village of Casset. Climb towards the Vallée de la Moulette. Continue on the GR 2 and 455 to the Col de Buffère, then to the refuge. From the refuge, go back down the GR towards the valley, and continue towards the Pont de Lacha and La Meuille by a good path. Shortly after the Meuille chalets, you can admire the Fontcouverte waterfall. The trail then climbs to the Laraux chalets and then to the Chardonnet refuge. From the refuge, reach the Châtelard lake via a mostly grassy path. It then winds easily to the Chardonnet pass (50m). The descent begins over stony ground. After a few steep and exposed sections, the trail winds above the valley. Follow the Rif torrent at first, then a mountain pasture strewn with boulders to arrive above the Alpe du Lauzet chalets and descend towards the Pont de l'Alpe. At the hamlet of Lauzet, join the GR®57 which rises in the valley, on the left bank of the Guisane. The pass gradually approaches through these mountain pastures. After a few large, not very steep bends, the pass is finally here!
