Trek : les secrets du Rissiou
A route that goes around the Rissiou massif, a pearl that deserves to be explored, remaining authentic. 2 days with very distinct atmospheres:
1st day with changing landscapes, a 2nd more intimate where the forest will be your main ally also crossing hamlets for a gentler return to civilization. Varied atmospheres to allow you a total immersion in nature, far from the beaten track.
During this tour you will come across all the facilities of the largest hydraulic installation in France: the Grand'Maison dam. Its construction began in 1978 and was completed in 1985. It was put into operation in 1987. Located on the Eau d'Olle, the Grand'Maison dam is the most powerful dam in France. It can hold up to 137 million m3 of water (including 100 million from snowmelt).
Where to sleep? In a stopover lodge: Les Favets, Rivier d'Allemond 04 76 80 72 74, to be reserved because the accommodation only has 8 places.
Camping on the heights of the village of Rivier d'Allemond, with water point at the washhouse on the Ronzières road. Please break camp before 8 a.m., throw your waste in the bins, and avoid fires. At the end of June and September, the shepherdess watches over her sheep, please respect the flock.
1 day: Vaujany-Rivier D'Allemond: 18km, elevation gain: 1400m / elevation loss: 1300m
Day 2: Rivier d'Allemond-Vaujany: 13km / + 580 m / -540 m
