Villard Notre Dame-Refuge des Sources randonnée au départ de Villard Notre Dame
A magical climb in the middle of the waterfalls! The path crosses a torrent and goes up the left bank of the Vallon stream. You will be amazed all the way to the communal refuge of the sources!

ROUTE
The trail starts at the hairpin bend before entering the village of Villard Notre Dame. It then goes up the Rochail valley on the left bank of the torrent to the Sources refuge.
The view from the trail is spectacular over the Aiguilles d'Arves, the Emparis plateau, the Ferrand valley, the Grandes Rousses massif and the resorts of Alpe d'Huez and Villard Reculas.
Located at an altitude of 2268m, a 3-hour walk from Villard Notre Dame, this small, unguarded mountain refuge overlooks the Vallon torrent. Facing due south, it is on the access path to the summit of Rochail.

Shortly after setting off, you will pass through the ruined village of Essard, whose inhabitants were warned just in time of the arrival of the Germans on 3 November 1943 and thus saved their lives.
