Refuge Les Clots
Charming mountain refuge in Mizoën 1515m altitude. Stage of the GR50 54C Tour des Ecrins and starting point for numerous hikes on the Emparis plateau. Nearby: the petrifying Pisse waterfall, via ferrata, climbing route. Splendid view of the Meije.
From the Aymes car park, follow the path marked in red and white (variant from the GR 54): balcony path above Lake Chambon before climbing towards a meadow. From here it is possible to follow the path on the right reaching the refuge (add half an hour) or take straight ahead towards the Clots refuge. A walk and a refuge with character labeled Esprit Parc accessible to families and lovers of silence and a return to basics!
Along the way and near the refuge, depending on the time of your visit, you may be able to observe marmots, chamois and butterflies, and depending on the season, feast your eyes and nose on lavender and other orange lilies.
You will also admire the waterfalls overlooking the refuge. They emerge from a petrifying fountain forming tuff concretions. The site is preserved by a biotope protection order. Stay on the path to avoid damaging this geological wonder.
