Le Pass of Glandon (1 m) forms the junction between Isère and Savoie, between Oisans and Maurienne.
Since col du Glandon The view of the Col de la Madeleine and Mont Blanc is magnificent! Stand in the center of the 4 pillars (above the parking lot): your gaze will naturally be drawn straight to Mont Blanc.
The history of col du Glandon

In Roman times, the col du Glandon allowed the passage from Oisans to Maurienne, going back down through the Villards valley. The pass road was opened in 1898. From 1912, it was finally possible to reach St Jean de Maurienne directly thanks to the connection with the col de la Croix de Fer.
Le memorial located at the top of the pass recalls an event from the 2nd World War: in the summer of 1944, the Oisans maquis had managed to temporarily repel a German attack.
