Located in the center of Oisans, Le Freney-d'Oisans is a gateway to legendary destinations: La Grave, Les 2 Alpes, Auris-en-Oisans, Venosc, Le Bourg-d’Oisans and Alpe d'Huez, accessible in 15 to 30 minutes. This mountain crossroads is ideal for exploring the Oisans region.
From the bubbling banks of the Romanche to peaks over 3 metres high, Le Freney-d'Oisans combines height and contrast. In the lower part, the village is dotted with small picturesque hamlets. Once you have crossed Puy le Haut, the land rises to mountain pastures where the herds are still blessed. Then, at 1m, the Col de Sarenne makes the link between Le Freney-d'Oisans and Clavans-en-Haut-Oisans. The ascent continues in a mineral universe, where glaciers stretch over the Grandes Rousses massif. At the top of this vertical odyssey is the majestic Pic Bayle (3 465 m), preceded by Pic Blanc and the famous Sarenne black slope, a legendary trail for experienced skiers.
