If you're travelling by night towards Les 2 Alpes and La Grave, a light will guide you through the winding, vertical gorges of the Romanche. Like a lighthouse, the church of Saint-Christophe, perched on a promontory at 1 m, watches over the Oisans. Behind it is the village of Mizoën, alpine, flower-filled and panoramic.
It's at the Chambon dam that you'll have to take the 12% gradient to get to Mizoënn. Once you arrive, you'll realise that this village is an XXL-sized lookout point. From here, you can see the blue waters of the Romanche, the Écrins with its famous Meije, the south face of the Grandes Rousses massif and the distant ridges of the Taillefer.
In addition to its centre, Mizoën is made up of 2 rustic hamlets, Les Aymes and Singuigneret, as well as alpine land reaching altitudes of over 2 metres. This is a land of agriculture and transhumance, with its traditions and paths dotted with oratories. You can also count on the hospitality of the Mizoën refuges, if you wish to explore these verdant mountain pastures.
Mizoën is also the gateway to the Ferrand Valley, named after the torrent that runs through it. A vast, wild territory bordering the Écrins National Park, it is home to remarkable natural sites, such as the Emparis Plateau, the Quirlies Lake, and even ancient hamlets.
Just 15 minutes from Les 2 Alpes, Mizoën will offer you its hospitality, for a peaceful stay, while enjoying the modern facilities of this international resort.
