Lac du Goléon

From the lake, there are breathtaking views of the surrounding glaciers and peaks: the Aiguilles d'Arves and the Aiguille de la Saussaz.
Go around the lake on the left bank and then head towards the Aiguilles d'Arves to access the Amont plateau, filled with inscriptions made with stones.
The Goléon refuge is located on the edge of the lake. An easy hike, suitable for children who are good walkers.
You might spot marmots, ibex and griffon vultures if you're lucky, not to mention butterflies and alpine flowers!
The Goléon marsh is a very rare and very fragile environment in Europe, found mainly in the Far North.
This is one of the most beautiful formations in the Alps, home to very sensitive protected species.
Therefore, we must avoid moving the stones in the marsh, which can disrupt the flow of water, crush small plants or insects that are very important for biodiversity!
