La Meije Orientale – 3891 m – Voie normale
Program
Introductory course, starting from the Aigle refuge, offering one of the most beautiful views of the Ecrins.
Reach the Aigle refuge at an altitude of 3 meters, spend the night there and climb at first light the Meije Eastern Europe is like a test. At the end, two options: mountaineering in Oisans becomes your reason for existing for the rest of your life, or the opposite, you will spend your free hours far from the mountains. If mountaineering appeals to you, there is still a good chance that this mini-expedition to the Meije oriental disrupts your habits and you decide to continue climbing the summits of the Écrins, the Grand Pic de la Meije in sight. Climbing to the Aigle is almost a race in itself, or the promise of beautiful hours climbing 1 meters of altitude to this unique refuge, nestled at the summits of the Homme and Tabuchet glaciers. The next day, through elegant and varied snow sections – glacial terrain, steeper slopes and sharp ridges – you will climb the Meije eastern, last summit to the east of the ridge coming from the Grand Pic de la MeijeThe view from this summit over the ridges of the Meije and the most beautiful peaks of the Écrins is exceptional. Let's be honest: we've rarely seen a better introduction to mountaineering, and all that's left is for us to wish you a good race!
