Description
1st day: 4h30 walk / D+ 621m / D- 200m.
Departing from Plan du Lac, the gateway to the commune of Saint Christophe en Oisans, the route will take you to an isolated mountain hamlet and its typical habitats: Lanchâtra. You will then follow the Vénéon torrent and its emerald green waters, overnight at the very cozy Refuge de l'Alpe du Pin and its 20 places.
2rd day: 5 hours of walking / D+ 607m.
Head towards the Mariande valley, one of the wildest in the area where the sheep graze alone... On your way you will then discover the Souchey and its mountain pasture houses, which were still used until the 50s for pastoral activity, night at the Lavey refuge, in the heart of the Muande valley.
3rd day: 5 hours of walking / D+ 737m.
A beautiful climb to the Lac des Fétoules (2249m), the highest point of your route and a magnificent viewpoint over the lower Vénéon valley, then you will go back down to cross the tumultuous waters of the Vénéon at the Pont des Rajas, built in the XNUMXth century. Night at the Gîte d'Etape de Pré Clot, formerly a sheepfold.
4th day: 5h30 walk / D+ 1000m.
Departure from Pré Clot, via the Plat de la Selle, for St Christophe with a visit to the museum.
5rd day: 5 hours of walking / D+ 400m.
Passage through the Pres, the Miroir des Fétoules, the Puy and its old cultivation terraces and return to Plan du lac.
